Patek Philippe 5970G wrist watches news:
If I am not misrememberin, Wittnauers started off as American watches .....( but I have been absorbing a huge amount of watch lore in the last 6 months, and I could have mixed them up with someone else) .....Anyway, as some of you may remember, I lucked into a 14k white gold Wittnauer, with a badly stained/chipped dial, ....I showed it here, a discussionb ensued.....Well I got it back from my watch guy, and it really only took...maybe 3 weeks or so ..........So here's the watch as I got it .......and with a small amount of attention, my watch guy just cleaned and oiled it up a mite....but the movement already looked pretty goo I thought..........I am very pleased with the way it came out .....and Jerry polished it for me too ! ......
They've got their Akribos brand on SAH and Stuhrling on SNBC. They have several of the exact same watches and must be owned by the same people. I'd like to know how they pulled this off. Great business move.I know many don't like their watches because they use the Chinese movements, but you must give props to their business acumen. Plus they use a Ronda movement in their Hublot look-alike for you Swissies out there. I own the Akribos that looks like the Breitling and really like it. Put an Invicta alligator strap on it and it looks beautiful for only 80 bucks. I might one day even buy that Hublot homage, which as Larry pointed out, does indeed look a great deal like the Royal Oak by AP.
I popped in to get my SE put onto a blue strap today and I really like it, more than the white, I think, as the blue goes well with the RG. This isn't actually the blue strap that comes with the watch, its a lighter shade. The proper SE blue is much darker.
so it's not gets rusty.
Olive oem..I think the 1940s cases are outstanding. It appears not many agree though
