Patek Philippe 5980 wrist watches news:
It's sort of a general rule of thumb that mechanical complications increase the price of a watch. If you look at a brand's catalog, their chronographs, GMTs, perpetual calendars, etc¡ (should they have them in the first place) cost more than simpler 3-hand models, and understandably so. As the name implies, complications increase the complexity of the movement, which, generally speaking, increases the amount of parts, labor and skill required to make the movement and thusly increases the cost. So, when you're perusing the internet or a local shop and you come across an automatic GMT with a power reserve and decentralized date by a reputable brand, you're likely looking at something that costs at least $1,000, more likely much more. Well, Orient once again defies pricing logic with their CDH00001B ¨C Explorer, which costs $650 MSRP, or $455 with an Orient 30% discount code (try fall2012).So, what is the Orient Explorer? Well, on paper it's basically everything you'd want in a traveler's
We have seen master engraver Benzingers work in many watches, including Chronoswiss. Today's featured brand is his own, the Jochen Benzinger Line, along with his creations with master watchmaker Herman Griebpics and info from watchbuysJochen Benzinger is considered one of the world's best watch movement engravers. Jochen, who both lives and works near the Black Forest region of Germany, creates masterpieces from movements, with all of his work done completely by hand using machines that in many cases are over 100 years old.Jochen was born in 1961, and under the guidance of a guild master in Pforzheim he completed his apprenticeship in engraving, finishing and earned a diploma for being among the most talented students. Looking for a new challenge, he taught himself the craft of engine turning, which today is no longer offered as an apprenticeship. To learn these tasks, Jochen not only had to rely on the talents of elderly specialists still living in Pforzheim, but also had to buy and
What do you guys think? The price gap between the steel (blue dial) and rose (chocolate dial) 5711 is now more or less gone. In terms of future price development, what would you go for?
The BB line wins 2018 and just gave another punch to the Rolex resale market. Beautiful watch.https://.tudorwatch/magazine/article/baselworld
Hi Guys, I recently got a new Rolex. aD wound it for me while I was at the store. A month later it stopped after me not wearing it for a day. So I gave it like 40 turns and it was up and running again. I took it off and went to bed. The next day I woke up and I saw it has stopped again. Around 30 minutes after I took it off. I wind it up again and it did the same thing the next day. I took it back to the AD and it is now being sent back to the RSC to have them look at. AD told me I should never wind my watch ever even if it stops since many people break their watch by doing that. AD told me to just wear it for awhile and it will run without winding. Said I might have break the watch by over winding. Not sure if I buy that since I read on here there's a locking mechanism that prevents the watch from overwinding. Is it possible I am not giving the watch enough wind by not moving around enough while wearing it. Thanks !
