Philip Stein 21FMOPZPI wrist watches news:
Rolex, that is. After a 2.5 hour breakdown of the UPS truck, plus a driver that was unfamiliar with the route, the Explorer II Black Dial finally appeared at the door. Now, this was 6:15 PM last night, local time, and is characteristic of the way things go for me. M07xxxx S/N with 3186 movement. So here tis, the adequate, at best, shots, but until I get a close up lens, these'll have to do. Quite pleased with it, so far. Only downside is the cyclops. Outside, the specular highlights reflecting off the cyclops from the AZ sun make the date window very difficult to read.
I have been eying this one for a few months. Just found that they make a Pepsi bezel blue dial. I like the yellow dial but i don't like that the date wheel is white on the yellow dial and dial color on the black and the blue dials. Seems like it is unfinished when compared to the others. So what are your thoughts on the bezel do you think the color will chip off or will it dent (aluminum ring?) discountwatchstore/st..._40437611.htmlalso looks like i can save about $100 if i get the rubber strap SKA3671P2 blackPepsi SKA369P1 doesn't come with rubber strap Thanks all
I think it's common knowledge that the Roman numeral for 4 is IV, but watches always seem to use IIII for 4. They don't use VIIII for 9, they use IX. It seems to be the only number for which they use something other than the common Roman numeral. Is there a reason? It seems traditional on clocks and watches, but I can't think of any other application where IIII is used instead of IV. It's something I've always wondered about, and has actually prevented me from buying a watch with Roman numerals.Personally, I was always taught that 1 through 12 would be:I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII.I have heard that IIII is an acceptable substitute for IV, but only from people selling watches...
Finally a Photo. Not the best.Anyway , this is what she got me for Xmas. I like it very much. One badass watch. [IMG][/IMG]
