TAG Heuer CAV511B.FC6225 wrist watches news:
One of Seiko's more quiet new watch collections announced for 2014 was the Recraft range, which is all about re-imagining classic Seiko timepieces for today's watch lovers. Some of the Seiko Recraft watches are inspired by models that go back to the 1970s, but I wouldn't necessarily call Seiko Recraft watches to be retro-revival. More, they are a way of revisiting classic Seiko models in a modern light. Even though there are mechanical Seiko Recraft watches, the most illustrious of the pieces are these two Seiko Recraft Kinetic watches (ref. SKA651 and SKA659). Each uses a Seiko Kinetic movement and is mostly closely aligned with the 1990s' Seiko Artura Kinetic watch models.Nevertheless, it was in 1988 that Seiko made its then very innovative Kinetic family of watches available for sale for the first time. This was two years after debuting a Seiko Kinetic concept watch at Baselworld 1986. Kinetic was a fantastic creation that for the first time built a bridge between mechanical and qua
What Rolex should do:Re-design the Explorer as the ultimate tool watch for those of us who don't need polished center links and such. If I were in charge of the project, (I wish), here is what I would do:Build a new platform around a two watch line, GMT version and non GMT version.Use the 40mm Submariner case with perhaps a tegment process like used on Sinn for scratch resistanceWatreproof to 300MUse the old rotating GMT bezel for the GMT versionSmooth brushed bezel for the non GMT versionBlack Maxi Dial with the 6 and 9 in place just like the current Explorer, add a date complication with Cyclops, lots and lots of lume3135 movement in the non GMT with the new Paracrom spring3186 movement in the GMT versionAlso offer each model in a Thermo Compensated Oyster Quartz versionBrushed oyster bracelet with glide lock claspSell the watch in a kit with a rubber strap and tool to changeNot sure what Rolex has planned for the Explorer line, but I figured my two cents would at least get an intere
Finally got round to getting the IWC I've been meaning to get for a good few years. It's a Fliegerchronograph with s/s bracelet, model 3706. It could just as easily have been the latest 3717, but in the end I went for the pilot chrono with the nicer dial typography (IMHO) and that I had wanted for longest. It also has a factory alligator strap, box and papers and is in mint condition. Now my daVinci has a sibling!
I just picked this piece up. I had another Technos from the 70's. This one appears to be much newer. The quality is great. I dont dig the acrylic front and back though. Does anyone know when these were made??ThanksJustin
Hi guysI am actually using Brasso to polish the stainless steel around the bezel. But sometimes it touches the mineral glass of the watch. Will Brasso damage it?Oh and yes, I currently own a Hamilton GMT Air Race
