Rolex has announced the opening of applications to the 2012 Rolex Awards for Enterprise. The awards were established in 1976 to provide funding and recognition to individuals whose projects bring significant benefits to their communities and to the wider world. Five Laureates will be selected by an independent Jury of experts who will meet early in 2012. Each Laureate receives $100,000 to advance their project, plus appreciation and publicity for their work through international advertising campaigns. Respectable Elegant Watch
I'm a college student so my budget isn't all that great right now. However, it's the Holidays and I'm in the market for a watch that's both respectable and affordable. I'd like to get a black leather strap, I've already got a couple of watches that have big metal straps that I just find are too flashy when wearing a suit or dressing formally, I'd prefer something that is sleek and elegant. I'm a huge fan of the Tag Heuer CarreraI tried one on at a jewelry store recently and the pictures for this link just don't justify the quality and elegance that it has in person. I'm not 100% sure that the one I tried on was a Calibre 5 but it certainly was similar. CARRERA Calibre 5 Automatic Watch 39 mm Black opalin Alligator skin bracelet | TAG Heuer I know there's got to be a decent watch out there that has similar style and is in the $200 range (give or take a few bucks). Incoming...watch box filled!
I'd been looking for a while for a piece to fill the last space in my watch box. I already had a couple of Rolexes, AP, Panerai and JLC, so naturally the final slot had to go to a Patek ;)Thankfully, I only had to wait a few months for the AD to get one of these in and was able to get a VAT rebate too as a non-UK resident 😃.So here it is, I haven't been able to take it off the wrist since acquiring it....the Aquanaut 5167 😃😃😃
