This watch is really a fine luxury timepiece with a classic look from a new watch maker. The brand is Ateliers DeMonaco, and is meant to be a mix of Swiss watch making finesse with Monaco style and attitude. The watches come in various forms with the square models being my favorite. They feature three different styled faces in various colors. The faces have either Roman or Arabic numerals, or pictured with simple hour markers. These are some of the first actual images of the watch after its unveiling that I've seen and I have to say that I am impressed. Not only does the face and dial look deliciously elegant, but look at that decorated movement and rotor! Seeing such high engraved and decorated rotors is very rare. Thinking of buying a Planet Ocean - need advice
Right - I love the watch, so, bonus pending, I will probably pick one up.My local dealer has a price tag on one of $3700 USD.I went online and found one for $2395 USD.So, my question is this:Can folks recommend a reputable online dealer, or mail order dealer?I'll negotiate, etc., but I'd like to avoid buying a rip off. I thought it worth reposting as there are not many forums which discuss Russian watches.I started collectin Russian watches because I think they bring together Soviet/Russian history, culture and technical development and still being reasonably cheap. Watchproduction has always been important in Russia mostly driven my military considerations and there is an interesing hisory linked to a lot of the evolution of Russian watchmaking. Omegas pulled from Tourneau in King of Prussia mall
I was in KoP today doing some LEGO shopping with my son. While there I wanted to check out Omega Speedmaster Professional, but was told by staff at Tourneau that they have been asked to remove Omegas from their display since Omega is building new Boutique across from their store that should open in about a month. In case you wanted to shop form Omega in KoP you will need to wait or head over to their dealer in Warrington where I stopped later in the day to check out the watch.
