Rado R21.711.02.2 wrist watches news:
Hi, I am new to the forum and wonder if anyone can give me some advice please. I have just acquired my first Omega, A used Seamaster Pro model 2532.80.00. condition is very good. (Please excuse the photo which was taken on my phone and doesn't show the watch at it's best). My question relates to the age of the watch. I have the box and all papers, which shows the date of sale from Swatch group HQ Southampton is 2003 but the tag tells me that the movement is the 1109. I understood that Omega discontinued the 1109 in favor of the 1120 in 1998. Should I be concerned about the movement or the age discrepency? I don't know much about the 1109. Also having a S Steel bezel seems unusual. If anyone could give some background on this model I would be most grateful. I paid ¡ê850 for it and hope it was a fair price. By the way it keeps very good time, within 2 sec per day. Many thanks Steve
I'm looking into buying one of these, the one that has an inlaid piece of wood from the Calypso on the case back.I have seen prices online that range from $4,500 to $8,500, a large range...How much should I pay for one BNIB, I'm being offered one for $8,500 which I think it's pretty steep.Any input will be appreciated. Here's a picture of the watch:
Does anybody clean their own dials? What do you use and is it hard to do?Thanks!
When referring to your ETA movement in your watch do you spell it out, E ¨C T ¨C A or do say the word ¡°Eta¡±. I personally spell it out but a little while back I was talking to a watchmaker and she said it as one word ¡°Eta¡±. Just curious? Paul
OK all,I'm a novice at NATO or zulu straps(or any other kind of nylon strap for that matter) as I've never really paid much attention to them. However, I've got a couple watches I'd like to try them on. Rummaging around I've seen a couple I like, but don't know the difference in a NATO vs. Zulu. Unless I'm missing something (always a good possibility!) they look the same. Any inputs? Thanks!PS - if you have a picture with a NATO / Zulu on a watch, I'd love to see them - post them here!!
