This morning, rumors started flying that Jean-Frédéric Dufour, CEO of Zenith, will be taking the reins as global CEO of Rolex. Well, we confirmed the rumors with Rolex's Geneva office and they're entirely true! Dufour arrived at Zenith in 2009 after working at Blancpain, Chopard, Ulysse Nardin, and a few other brands, and he is largely responsible for the direction in which Zenith has moved over the last half-decade. He will be the sixth CEO of Rolex (the fourth since 2008) and we are excited to see his impact on The Crown.This is the second huge move among top watch industry executives in as many months, with Jean-Claude Biver having been named head of watchmaking at LVMH effective March 1. SMP "Speedy" bracelet vs. Speedmaster "Speedy" bracelet
Over the years, Omega has offered the Seamaster Professional with two bracelet options: The basket weave Bond or the Speedy styled bracelet.Someone on another forum asked why the Speedy Pro (3570.50) bracelet seemed lighter than his SMP Speedy bracelet. FYI, here is the answer I shared.The only difference between the two bracelets is the clasp.Top view:Side views with the SMP on top:Side by side with SMP in the forefront:The design of the SMP bracelet makes it heavier. Note that the SMP clasp is longer and contains a diver expansion; i.e., more steel; ergo, more weight.As most of your know, I do not care for the ref. 1998 Speedy Pro bracelet due to the extreme arc of the clasp. The SMP clasp is flatter and wears more comfortably on my wrist.I also prefer the SMP Speedy bracelet over the Bond. I prefer the fit and taper of the Speedy. And over time the Bond links wear and become unsightly. The Speedy links are more easily maintained.

5196G enabling needed...
Been thinking of upgrading my 15400 to a 15202, and finally put it on the chopping block.But yesterday I started thinking that a 5196G would be a great alternative to the 15202, I know, they are different watches for different purposes, but still.I have been consolidating lately and have only a few watches (you can see in my signature what I have), I am missing a dress watch as you can see.So, I have time to decide while the 15400 sells, but I have always found the hunt to be a big part of the fun.Any comments and especially pics would be greatly appreciated.
