Two weeks ago, we announced a new project called the HODINKEE Collectors Summit. This completely private, off-the-record event is something totally different for the watch world. Hi allI see that Adam (GLADIATOR) posted this in another forum, and thought it might be of interest here, too. I've seen the postcard and think it's VERY cool....I also find myself wishing I knew more about the lady in the photo! Best,Ike"Why do early so called 'Trench' watches have a red 12?Who made the first wrist-watches?What date did men and woman start wearing a wrist-watch?These and many other questions remain unanswered in Horology. I have spent many hours studying old articles and collecting in an attempt to try to answer these points.A few weeks ago, I came accross a very rare picture, which helped answer those questions, I waited patiently, bid and won it! Only for the British Postal service to lose it! True!Maybe history does not want us to unearth all the answers of Horology.Anyway, 8 weeks, late the following rare photograph finally appeared in my mail box. Not only am I excited to see the picture, but its provenance is greatly helped by a personal message dated 1911
