This is the chronograph we have been waiting for from Cartier. The Rotonde de Cartier Chronograph is round, 40 mm in diameter, uses Cartier's great in-house caliber 1904-CH, and looks fantastic. 2 OF 4 When we reviewed the Calibre de Cartier Chronograph here, we agreed that though the merits of the excellent in-house chronograph movement were very real selling points, there was a lack of design cohesiveness throughout the piece ¨C?seen primarily on the dial. Here, the Rotonde de Cartier Chronograph provides us with a more balanced, traditional dial with the full Roman numeral treatment, silvered outer minute track, and Breguet hands. 3 OF 4 The 40 mm case is wonderfully balanced, and the rectangular pushers are incredibly subtle from the front of the case looking at the watch. This is what a buck buys you at a yard sale.
I've been very luck at yard sales lately (I buy and sell antiques, as well as watches), and today wasn't any different. I went to one sale today that I saw was going on locally on craigslist that looked like it could be a good one. Well, I got there, and there was tons of good stuff! I asked the man if I could make a pile, and he said sure! There was no prices on anything, so you had to ask for the prices, or make offers, etc. Well, I was there for about ten minutes and I was going through a very shallow box, and I saw what looked to be a watch on a really tacky 1960's/70's leather cuff bracelet. I pick it up, read the dial, asked how much it was, and put it with all of my stuff! He wanted $1 for it, so $1 I gave him, paid for my stuff, and left. It was a 1960's Omega Seamaster with a steel case in fairly good condition, and running to boot! I just took some dirty pictures of it after I took it off of that terrible strap. Switching Wrists
~Please forgive me if some of my questions have been posted before. I have checked a lot of past threads and not found any of the questions I've posted. I'm sure they exist, but as a newbie here, there are still quite a number of things about watches that I've always been curious about.~When I was growing up, I was always told that you wore your watch on the opposite arm of what you are (I.E. If you're right-handed, wear your watch on your left wrist, and vice-versa). Does anyone here just switch it up and go against the "rules"? Or, is this "rule" set in stone?
