The Color of Gold (I can't trust my eyes anymore)
I can't trust my eyes anymore.A while back, I posted a message about not being able to tell the difference between green gold and yellow gold. It turns out lots of people have trouble distinguishing, especially since case manufacturers used different formulas.However, I NEVER though I would have trouble telling the difference between WHITE gold and YELLOW gold. That is until today. A Ventuta Electric showed up today, and I assumed when I bought it, that it was yellow gold. But now that I look at it, I can't be completely sure. Is it possible the the Venturas in yellow gold are really pale? Or, is it possible that the Venturas in white gold can seem a bit warm in color?When I compare this watch to a Raleigh Plain in white gold fill, it looks very close. When I compare it to a Boulton in yellow gold fill, it looks really different. I have found substantial saving through the grey market. What is the true benefit of the AD? Let me get you an example. A new Rolex platinum DD at the AD is almost 50k, through the Grey market it is $34kIs it worth 16k more to buy from an AD? 10k? 5k? 1k?
