AD Discounts in the UK
A big hello to all UK members I'm already the proud owner of a Seamaster GMT, but am becoming tempted to add to that an SMP 'Bond', with blue face. I have umm-ed and ah-ed about getting a pre-owned (as part of me still prefers the older, pre-applied markers, style) but I can't see many for sale which are either (a) good value and (b) don't have very scratched bezels. (and I'd rather not get ripped off by Omega for the cost of a new bezel, but if anyone knows the approximate cost of those I'd be curious please...).So, if I go down the new routeour international friends often talk about good AD discounts, particularly in the current economic climate, but I if I go to, say, a high street jeweler such as E/Jones or G/Smiths would I be 'laughed out of court'? I just can;t see them discounting the most popular-selling watches (although, granted, I haven't asked yet).Does anyone have experience of this with the big name stores, how big was the discount, and any general recommendations or stor

Patek 5164A: Day/Night Indicator
Hi folks,I would like to check with current Patek 5164A owners, does your Day/Night indicator change colour (e.g from white to dark blue or vice versa) exactly at 6am/6pm?My new Patek 5164A seems to only start changing the colour of the Day/Night indicator starting from around 6am/6pm. The process would take about an hour or so to completely change the colour in the Day/Night indicator (e.g from white to dark blue or vice versa). Is this normal?In the Patek owner's manual, it only states the following:The day/night indicator in the round aperture at 3 o¡¯clock (HOME) lets you check whether you have set the correct time (white stands for the daylight hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., black for the night time hours from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.).Hope current owners can help to shed some light on this and this is my first Patek watch. Many thanks in advance.
