Seiko SRL033 wrist watches news:
This is a repost from the General Discussion Forum. I thought there would be some interest here (obvious reasons). If it stays with me, my first Omega...Hello all,Some time ago I did a post regarding a project I had done for my boss (Link). In that post I mentioned an Omega that he had given as well. The Omega required a bit more work and has gone back to the watchmaker a couple of times, but I think we are now in pretty good shape. Here is where we started - as best I can tell, this is a OT 14393 from 1960 or so. I did some poking around on the Omega website researching this and I am pretty sure that is the model we are looking at.As you can tell, it came on a 3rd party bracelet and was in pretty bad shape. The dial had already been (poorly) redone - they were a little sloppy in placement and with the amount of adhesive they used. One of the screws had lodged itself in the mechanism as well. Here is a better shot of the dial. You can see some of the misalignment. So, off to the wat
Hi All,Been a long time since i have posted a thread so its good to be back. In all fairness i forgot my credentials for a brief period but I'm all good now. Been pondering parting with my savings over a new watch but this thread isn't to choose but more to see if you good folk agree. The two watch are the Black face Omega Seamster and the Tudor black Bay with a Burgundy Bezel. Some may not see a choice at all putting the new freshly branded Tudor up against the Omega but with a similar price point i investigated. A few of my friends have recently bought an Omega which led me to look elsewhere not too follow the crowd etc etc and i liked the look of the Black bay as i haven't the funds to purchase a rolex and you don't see too many around( at the moment).I popped into the Jewellers today to try them both on and have a closer look and i must say i was very disappointed with the Tudor. The initial weight was light and compared to the Omega the finish was poor all round with an even more
After many long years, months and days I finally managed to track down a complete and more importantly mint condition Alaska Project Limited Edition Speedmaster. To say that I'm over the moon ;) is an understatement of epic proportions. I just can't wait until it reaches my doorstep. Thanks George AB!Copper
I know this was not a $1900 watch when I started looking, but now the Omega Seamaster 300M Midsize Automatic Chronometer Watch #2222.80.00 is sooooooooooo tempting. I'm worried if I wait 6 months things recover and it's going to be $500 more. Thanks in advance for any advice for those that have the watch and have comments or just want to share their view on purchasing at these prices!
I've seen quite a few threads on the net about poor service and damaged watches from the Panerai Service Center in Dallas, and mixed in those threads are a few positive comments here and there. Just wondering if this is a case of 'the squeaky wheel gets the grease' type thing. Has anyone had a goor, great or excellent experience with the Panerai Service Center in Dallas? I'm interested because I just bought one with an in house movement and don't have other service options so I'd like to get a feel for what I can expect. Thanks,RogerSent from my iPad (so I blame autocorrect for the spellin' errs)
