Zenith 51.2050.4026/01.c713 wrist watches news:
Christie’s New York closed a very successful season of watch auctions on December 17, with a 365-lot auction of “Important Watches” that achieved a total of $12,926,175, including a new auction record for the highest-selling timepiece, a Rolex reference 8171 “Padellone” in steel. Here are the top 10 sellers in Christie’s year-ending watch auction.1. Rolex Stainless Steel Reference 8171 “Padellone,” circa 1953This exceptional Rolex watch, nicknamed “Sleeping Beauty,” sold for $1,145,000, quadrupling its pre-sale estimate of $250,000 – $350,000. It is a stainless steel and diamond-set triple calendar watch with a moon-phase display and powered by an automatic movement. The final price is a new world auction record for this Rolex watch reference.2. Patek Philippe Reference 2499This Patek Philippe perpetual calendar watch, manufactured in 1960, also has a chronograph and moon-phase display. It has an 18k gold case and a matt
Given that I really want my first Omega to be an automatic, and that my opinions on the Speedmaster have changed from "Ho Hum", to "Hot", would the 3510.50 be a good model for me to check out. Several are currently listed on that internation internet auction site from a few reputable sellers in the $1000-$1200 range, in what appears to be very nice conditon. Is there any thing wrong with the cal. 3220 movement? What's up with the large "second" hand on the Speedy? Is it only in use during the stopwatch function?
What's your top choice? The black, gray, blue or ivory dial?
Since I¡¯m turning 40 in February I decided to treat myself with a second watch that I could rotate with my Explorer, something more casualI. I started looking for another Rolex, but none of them really scratched my itch, so I started looking at other brands / styles which lead me to Omega. So I looked up Authorized Dealer location on their website so I could go try some on since I was so unfamiliar with the line. The local AD was very professional & accommodating even though I had never stepped foot in their door before. They let me try on many different models that I liked, but this 43.5 Planet Ocean spoke to me, I loved it at first sight! I can completely understand how this color scheme might turn some away, however I love it! Needless to say by my user name I¡¯m a Cincinnati Bengals fan (I know, it¡¯s a curse) so the color scheme was perfect for what I was looking for. I have read a lot of opinions on how the watch was a little too large, but I have a 6 3/4¡± wrist and I really
I was wondering who you guys use when sending expensive watches I have a Rolex explorer that someone has purchased but I have no other option than to send it via the post but I want to make sure it's insured to the full value of the watch so can anyone recommend a good courier please.
