Seiko SUP878 wrist watches news:
With the new IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Monopusher Chronograph, "IWC presents its first-ever model with an ingenious single push-button chronograph" for Watches & Wonders 2015 (essentially SIHH for Asia, taking place in Hong Kong this Fall). The timing of this?debut, perhaps not without a hint of irony, is fortunate, as it comes shortly after we have discussed at length this particular?complication in our recent "Why Monopusher Chronographs Are Primitive & A Brief History Of The Chronograph Watch Complication" feature article. With all that's been said there, but no prejudices on our mind, let's see how?this latest addition to the IWC Portofino line is new.Available in two?colorways ¨C in 18k white gold with a dark, metallic brown dial and in 18k red gold with a silver?plated dial ¨C the new IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Monopusher?Chronograph features IWC's in-house made?59360 caliber. At 45 millimeters wide, IWC?once again went for what probably is the largest diameter that could poss
Yeah, so I did watch some of "Dancing with the Stars" tonight.. So did anyone catch what ol' Buzz was wearing on his wrist? I thought I saw a PO in one shot. Not sure what he wore during the dance. I'm thinking he's the only one wearing a watch during the event tonight.Just havin' some fun here.
I've had this watch for quite a while and one thing that always bothered me was the fit of the screw in case back. It is very difficult to photograph, but it seemed slightly cross threaded.Today I decided it was time to put the Jaxa wrench to the test. The flat sided wrench inserts made short work of removing the back. What I found was a pleasant surprise. As I am sure everyone knows, the Marina Militare watches from China can be had on several websites for $50 to $60. I've opened several watches to clean fog from crystals and/or to replace batteries in quartz movements. This is the first watch I have opened that does not have a plastic movement holder.By the way, this is a Sea Gull 2430 automatic movement with a power reserve indicator and small seconds hand.Lots of blued screws and almost every surface has been machined or hand tooled. Too bad this watch doesn't have an exhibition case back. The back was slightly cross threaded. I cleaned up the threads and carefully screwed in
In the Omega forum, Wilfreb asked "how important is comfort to you" when it comes to selecting a watch. I think it needs a little more exposure so let's open up the question for all brands and to everyone. I have a couple watches I really like visually of this group for example: The diamond dial wg Longines (second from left at the bottom) jumped at me the day I bought it and still is striking to me, but the band is just a little too stiff. I'm hoping it wears in but it's been worn quite a few times already. The "C" cased gold-capped Omega Constellation (top) is another great find, but for some reason it makes my wrist sweat even in temperate weather. I really love the Elgin gold filled watch (far right), and it's perfect with a suit but once again the band is sometimes uncomfortable and I need to take it off once or twice during the day. The other two are about as perfect as I have - the Hamilton Storm King (second from the right) and the Omega Seamaster (bottom left) are so r
Being a Lume junkie...I sent this one out as well and imo looks 100x better
