Looking at these pics is likewell, it's not helping my decision-making situation vis-a-vis my next watch!
OK, so as an offshoot of Boscoe's "How many is too many" thread, I started thinking what is the "perfect" collection? So I started to think about it..IMO, this would be the perfect watch collection. Mind you, while I think ideally (for me anyways) it would be 1 watch per category, it's probably unrealistic with a bunch of over-compulsive watch-addicts like us.. But here's the categories I came up with for my perfect collection that everyone should have a minimum of 1 of....Core categoriesDress watch. Worn for the "dinner & movie" nights & formal wears. Goes with suit & tux For me it's a rose gold case with a croco strap, but any dress watch fits."Good" Diver. A good diver style for sport wear, but not something you'd want to beat on. A casual-Friday wear, evening & weekend watch."Beater" Diver. The watch for mowing the grass, working on the house, etc.Pilot Style.Either a Navitimer-style or GMT-style watch.Aviator Style.A true Aviator watch. Just picked up this mint 39mm SS ROC. Been on the hunt for the past year for an H serial that's complete with box and papers. Finally landed one today. Will send it off to APSC on Monday for a dial swap - to the deep navy dial (just like Fred's gorgeous SS ROC). Can hardly wait to get it back. Hey guys i was just wondering how many of you own/owned vintage Omega Deville watches. For starters, here is my 1960 calibre 600 in stainless steel.
My current collection is TTDJ II and BLNR. I was over in Switzerland a month ago and looked a several watches including Rolex and Panerai. They had a limited edition Panerai only sold by the Lucerne boutique. I did not purchase it while I was there but I recently have been enquiring and found out the boutiques in the US cannot get that watch. The sales lady in Switzerland said she could ship it to me. Has anybody ever had a watch shipped over seas and is there a problem coming through customs? Thank you for your input
