hi amigos, lately ive been at some other Omega forums and they are a lot of horror stories about Omegas Service.it reminds me a lot of Invicta but i think that kind of stuff is unacceptable from a brand of the caliber of Omega.i'm a new omega fan [just 4 months since i got my 2254] and i'm learning about them, but this service thing is really bothering me.whats your experience with their service?have you sent a watch for repair/service?thanks four your help.

lubrication question
Rik,I try to be frugal (cheap?) by buying older watches from AD's to get a better discount. Does this mean I should service the watch sooner than I would have if the watch was more recently made. Do the oils change from age and non-use if the watch has been stored in a vault or display case? It seems like the oils might thicken with age or migrate to one area of the watch, leaving other areas unlubricated. Since we have already establshed I am cheap, I don't want to service watches more than necessary, but don't want to risk expensive repairs which would have been avoided with appropriate service.Thanks,diver

I am going to buy one of these........which one do you prefer and why? Ultimately the Daytona is the grail but for less than half the $$$ and my current budget these are the 2 I have on the list. I like the looks of both but the Speedy is the closest in looks to Daytona. My other requirement is leather strap, do not want a steel bracelet on this watch.
