Bear Grylls Sticks With Casio: Wears G-Shock In Current Man Vs. Wild Season
Pardon if you don't care for such things as pointing out what watches people in films and on TV are wearing. Some people are vividly obsessed with game of? "watch spotting." And when I dedicate to watching a show, I am pretty keen on spotting what timepieces people are wearing. Being a fan of survival shows (total guilty pleasure), I've noticed what Les Stroud wore in Survivorman, and what Bear Grylls has been wearing over the past several seasons of Man vs. Wild (on the Discovery Channel). As many fans of the watch know, Bear started with higher-end watches such as a Breitling Emergency and then a Bremont and started to get more reasonable with the watches he beats up. The last two watches he was wearing have been Casios. These of course make great choices given their operation and value (not to mention durability), but I have a feeling Casio is helping him out by providing suitable watches for his tasks. Question re: changing dial on older watches
Hey guys, question about changing dials. This dial for example: Cadran Montre Leijona FHF 969 Are these attachment points fairly common in 60s-70s mechanical watches? i.e. if I found a watch that was the right size, would I be able to fairly easily swap out the dial and replace it with this one, or watch a watchmaker do this? (of course I would keep this watch for my own use only). Any thoughts/advice would be great. Thanks!

my new akribos.....getting sent it
So within 24 hours of owning my new akribos diver, a large amount of condensation and moisture has built up inside the crystal and bezel. I can heat it up with a hairdryer and it will go away, within 5 more minutes it builds back up again. Also the bezel is really hard to spin and rotate, I'm thinking the seal is bad. So monday I will start a claim and send it in. We will see what happens.

Help a newbie find a classy looking watch!
I'm really glad I discovered this place! I just turned 20 and was thinking it is about time to buy a decent watch. My wrists look very naked by themselves these days! Problem is, I really don't know where to start. One of the big issues with me is that I have really thin wrists, so most watches don't look good on me.I'm looking for a very low-profile watch with a small face and a leather/nylon band. I'm definitely looking for something low-key and classy, nothing flashy at all. I'm a vegetarian and prefer not to wear leather, so if I get a leather band I will probably end up swapping it out. (Yes I know, it's kind of stupid since it's already purchased...)What I've liked so far has been the Oris Classic and Raymond Weil Traditional lines. A few stores in my area carry the Raymond Weil line, but not some of the higher end automatics. There's also one store that sells Oris, but I haven't gotten a chance to go take a look yet.Any other good suggestions? I want to spend about $50
