Hi Just a polite intro of myself; I have been a lurker for a while and have finally found the time to register and say hello.I have been an avid admirer of the brand since my childhood, I travelled extensively with the British Merchant Navy through the 80's and never took the plunge in any of the tax havens I visited. I plodded on with a Seiko ano/digi which did the job for Sun/Star sights.....(when Sat nav was new and LORAN and DECCA ruled the world). (I figure that wimmin, booze, and cars took a priority in those days;)) I settled down and in 1990 bought a SD. It was worn daily (apart from the inevitable services) until 2004 when due to a complete lack of judgement on my part I sold it having been awe-inspired by the Breitling stable.Due to a few dissapointments therewith I flogged all my B's last December and acquired a new 'M' series SD about 6 weeks ago. I guess I was keen to acquire another SD pre any price increases and to make sure I could get hold of an 'original albeit update

Consolidating 5167 and BLNR for 5164?
I may now have an opportunity to get a 5164... and wanted to solicit a few opinions on here.If I were to get the 5164, I would sell both my 5167 and BLNR to fund it. With prices on the latter two being very nice these days, I would have to add a few thousand in cash for the 5164.The 5167 currently gets a lot of wear, whereas it's somewhat hard for me to fit the BLNR in my rotation. With a suit, I mostly rotate between the 15202 and 5167, and on weekends I prefer to wear the Hulk. I'm also not a huge fan of the PCLs on the BLNR, so a culmination of those factors means that it gets worn seldomly (even though I love the way it looks.)With the 5164, I feel like I can get the best of both worlds - a super comfortable travel time piece that can work with a suit, to shorts and a t-shirt. Plus, it's actually more under the radar than the Rolex while travelling. It also has a cleaner look compared to the 5167 without the date window.Would others around here do it?

Hi some help with a desicion. I have a PAM411, I am not sure that it's gets enough wrist time. Should I Sell it or Swap it, now fow the real question....... some help with value? I know it's a bit of an open question but any help would be appreciated. Cheers Ian

Rolex Tudor Servicing Cost
Hi there! I recently inherited a Cotton Bowl Classic Rolex/Tudor Day-Date (7017/0) (autowinding) from my Grandfather who was on the Nebraska coaching staff for the 1974 Cotton Bowl. To my knowledge, the watch has either never been worn or was very seldomly worn. This also means that I don't believe it has been serviced since 1974. I fully wound it and the second hand works perfectly, but the minute and hour hands run very slow. I know almost nothing about watches, but I'm wondering if anyone on here can help me with a ballpark estimate of what I should expect to spend to have it properly serviced. I'd like to avoid getting taken to the cleaners due to my lack of experience.Thanks in advance for your replies!Ben
