Zurich-based watch brand Maurice de Mauriac will now begin to offer a special new movement in all of their watches which are built to accept Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movements. Sourced from Concepto (the Jacquet family) the new movements are like super 7750s.The new movements are built on a Valjoux 7750 foundation and are interchangeable with the famous workhorse from ETA. The Valjoux 7750 is actually an amazing little machine. Continually refined for something like 30-40 years, it is not only the most popular Swiss mechanical chronograph calibre in the world, but also the base for a large number of other movements. As 7750 movements are so common, specialized movements using the same architecture are valued as they are less common and often much more attractive.Using the architecture of the 7750, Concepto produces this and other movements like it. for first Patek, 5205 or 5146?
Well, i have few rolexes and now im interested with Patek.(yes it happens!) but of course i have do savings first...I look around and compare the specification etc, i come up with 2 models which sings to me and both are annual calendar (the most 'affordable complications...Which will you suggest for me for my 1 st ? Whether it is 5205 or 5146 Slate?

Hi AllI have a question which I¡¯ve been thinking over for the past few weeks. Initially, I thought it was crazy but I¡¯m becoming more and more certain about going ahead with it. I¡¯d appreciate anyone¡¯s thoughts on this.My current Rolex collection consists of: DaytonaC White, SD4K, GMT II BLNR, GMT 16700 pepsi and a Hulk (incoming). Im thinking of trading all of these for a Daytona Platinum. Given I want to minimise the amount of cash I need to add, the Platona will be second hand.So far I see the positives as:-Consolidation/ simplification of my collection is good as the novelty of choice is waring off for me-I would love to be a one watch person (that will never happen but maybe one Rolex will)-I get (in my opinion) the ultimate RolexThe swap would leave me with some affordable beaters, a Royal Oak and a TAG Heuer Monaco (neither of these two can be traded).I guess my questions are:1.Would you do the trade if you were in my position and2.Can you recommend any UK based dealers to spea
