Omega Sticker Shock and Discouragement for Newbie
OK folks, while still new here, I've done a little sifting through threads and haven't seen on point discussions for what's discouraging me, so, with your forbearance, I'm going to lay out my questions and concerns. Please feel free to point me toward any threads I should be reading if I've missed them.I was in the market for a new Ball watch, but got sidetracked by Omegas and dropped all consideration of Ball as I became enamored of Omega. I stopped by a Jared yesterday as they are the only authorized distributor of Omega that I know of in the Chicago area. Seeing the Omegas up close and personal was great and reinforced my desire (lust ) for one. On the other hand, the prices stopped me in my tracks. I did not see anything for less than $5k.The most I've spent for a watch so far is $750 for my Hamilton. I'd set aside $2-3k for a Ball, but there is no way the wife will let me spend $5k. So Waltham Still Exists In Other Countries
Apparently REAL Waltham mechanical watches are still made in Switzerland and marketed in Europe and Japan Waltham | The manufacturer of fine Swiss wrist and pocket watchesbut here in the United States another firm owns the Waltham name and uses it to peddle 15 dollar Chinese throwaway watches? Does anyone here own a watch mfg by the current Waltham International? Looks to be a fine watch and worthy of the legendary name. Wish we could buy them in the USA rather than the name being dragged thru the mud by an importer of inferior below Wal-Mart grade timepieces. Wp

A question about a used Aquanaut.
I have never owned a PP but i am very interested in the Aquanaut 5167 , last week i purchased a New Rolex Daytona SS White face. But i am really enamored with the Aquanaut. Guys it is possible to purchased a used Aquanaut for around $9,500-10k just asking although i own quite a few other luxury brands i am not at all all familiar with PP and i know the quality is there and so it demands a much higher price then most. Winding your watch
Hello everyone,I've had my 114060 exactly 2 years and never take it off. It's gaining 2.8 seconds a day and I'm well aware that's within COSC specs but Rolex want to go one better with 2 seconds either way. I never wind the watch as I wear it like I said constantly but when I'm asleep I appreciate the watch is not active. Before I presume that my watch doesn't run to the Rolex tolerances I'm wondering do I still need to wind the watch perhaps weekly or monthly to get the best accuracy. I just think my lack of knowledge should be tested before criticising the watch.Thank you for any advice.Marc
