- Have used older flat watch for over 10 years as alarm clock. Liked the rooster crowing. Do not like this version at all - tried to return but over 30 day return limit. Would buy older version if I could find it - ANYWHERE!!

TAG Heuer China Team Limited Edition of 2000 pieces wrist watches news:
In December 1999, Sotheby¡¯s made watch-auction history. The auction house sold the so-called Henry Graves Supercomplication ¡ª a pocketwatch originally commissioned from Patek Philippe by noted watch collector Henry Graves, Jr., and which featured 24 complications ¡ª for an astounding $11,002,500, still the world record for any timepiece at auction. Last week, Sotheby’s announced that it will hold a single-owner sale on June 14, 2012 in New York that will include more rare watches from the collections of Graves and his grandson, Reginald “Pete” H. Fullerton, Jr., a noted collector and connoisseur in his own right. The auction, called Watches from the Collection of the late Reginald H. Fullerton, Jr. and his Grandfather Henry Graves, Jr., will comprise a group of 13 pieces collected by Graves that have never before been published or appeared on the market, as well as a group of 42 wristwatches and an important Knibb Grande Sonnerie Long Case Clock, assembled by Fullerton
The mood was refreshingly festive inside a packed pavilion in front of Hall 1 at Basel as luminaries from the world of watches gathered to celebrate Elizabeth Doerr¡¯s new book, 12 FACES OF TIME: HOROLOGICAL VIRTUOSOS. Slated for release this fall, 12 FACES is a non-commercial, close-up look at 12 leading independent watchmakers and their mechanical masterpieces. Leonid Khankin, owner and creative director at the Swiss-American watch company Ernst Benz, threw the party to simultaneously celebrate the launch of his company¡¯s Instrument Series and to honor the horological heroes profiled in Doerr¡¯s book. (L to R): Leonid Khankin, Elizabeth Doerr and Philippe Dufour enjoy the festivities.Seven of the featured watchmakers attended and guests enjoyed a rare opportunity to meet and speak with this august group that included Philippe Dufour, Vianney Halter, Roger Smith, Kari Voutilainen, Felix Baumgartner, Beat Haldimann and Thomas Prescher. What¡¯s the advice for us DIY-type that need to adjust the Speedy bracelet? Is there any special tool or technique that will simplify this task? or just don¡¯t bother and take it to a jeweler?alam
Just a brief update with pics to follow. Last Tuesday met with Adam78 from Chicago. Now I thought I had a great early Rolex (1930s) collection and indeed I do, but trust me Adam78 Are GREATER. Full of wonderful Bubblebacks. Great guy, lots of knowledge and a lovely person. I have loads of pictures (which Adam took). That I will post soon. But believe me this guy has the greats I'm Rolexs AND Hamiltons. Be patient. To day was with Noel from National Watch and Clock Museum in PA. They are running a special exhibition on Grand Complications. You guys MUST come take a look if only to see a letter written by Breguet to a customer. Wonderful stuff, really. Then we went over to see Roland G Murphy of RGM. WOW!! What an experience. Thisan is a 'master'. He demonstrate both a 'rose engine and a straight line engine' 'Guilloche'. He has all the vintage equipment tohand make watches and also repair or service any (really any) watch and if you could see him demonstrating a 'rose eengine' Guillo
So originally I had set the budget to get a Nautilus 5711, Royal Oak 15202 and a stainless Daytona (or just one Platona). Unfortunately, someone close to me was diagnosed with a terrible disease and I decided to give him half the watch budget to help with medical bills. With a new budget I decided on selling my old Royal Oak and getting the Jumbo + Daytona. Haven't ordered the Daytona yet but I'm actively looking and should be soon. Thanks to takuya (an awesome seller) for the fast delivery. Now here are the pics! And with my old Royal Oak:Getting used to having no seconds hand but it's a beautiful watch. Happy with the purchase.
