G-Shock newcomer needs help
Hi. I'm new here but have been a fan of G-Shocks eversince. I have a DW-9050 but always wanted a Frogman and about to get a pre-owned DW-8200 - if it's real, so i need your expert advice on this and so sorry for the crummy pics that were taken by my beat-up cellphone.The "G-Shock" and "Titanium" is also in black so it can't be seen. There's "Air Diver" on the face, "electro luminiscence" and "protection" on the strap.i doubt if this caseback shot will help but here it goes anyway...I looked it up and found this as the closest match. It's a DW 8200 / 1294 Air Divers...The seller admits having replaced the bezel with the "FROGMAN" now in red. No wonder i can't find anything on the net that's exactly like it. It is a franken. Question now is: is it still a legit DW 8200, especially to collectors? Would the gurus still buy it if it were a "steal"? Please help me decide.

Hello everyone, My father passed recently, and I inherited this gold Longines watch. It was given to my great-grandfather for his service with Esco. The date on the engraving is 1947. I did some searches for this make and model, but could not find one that was it. I know the community here probably sees this as an easy mystery to solve, but I am stumped. Any help with the make, model and relative worth would be greatly appreciated. The grit seen in the watch face is apparently either dust or sawdust, as my great grandfather was a carpenter. This was what my mother told me, she might have been incorrect. I would also like to know what resources I would need to get it cleaned, or is it something I could do myself? So I saw this last week & I just had to get it......on my wrist for a shot.. (What, you think I can afford that thing!?!?!? )Here's a back shot. Look at that detail! Seriously though, it was absolutely beautifully crafted. It's the first time I've seen on in a store, so I had to try it on. If I had the means, I would have definitely bought it. Spent about 45 minutes with the manager (who's also a big watch buff) and he took me around showing me the watches that are a bit more special. Though he knew I wasn't going to buy one, I think he was just happy to have a customer who understood what the watch was & not just a name. We looked at JLC, Choppard, IWC, Breitling & AP's to name a few.. VERY nice Unfortunately, I didn't think to get shots until the end.

Any good watch shops in Chicago?
Hey all. I'm going to Chicago this weekend for the first time. 3 nights, on business (to be a gofer on someone elses business trip) and was hoping someone could direct me to a good place/places to browse for watches. I would pull the trigger if I found something I liked. I am staying downtown at the Embassy suites with no means to get anywhere besides walking or cab so it needs to be reasonably close.
