The official status of Omega’s Speedmaster Professional as that of “Moonwatch” is widely known and celebrated amongst enthusiasts and certainly by Omega themselves. Unlike many brand partnerships, the relationship between Omega and NASA has yielded real, tangible benefits, with the Speedmaster itself making appearances in each of the manned missions to the Moon, and even contributing to one of the greatest dramas of the 20th century, helping the astronauts of Apollo 13 return safely to Earth after an oxygen tank explosion two days into the mission. Question on Various Seiko sub-Brands
I am just curious how the various Seiko sub-brands (not sure of the correct term) compare in quality. Is Credor on the same level as Grand Seiko or is it considered an even higher end product? How about King Seiko? Also is Brightz Phoenix another sub-brand or is it the name of a nicer chronograph (I have only seen the chronographs offered by Seiya) made by Seiko? I assume there are others as well that I have not even heard about.Thank You

This very week the anniversary of the Edict of Nantes is coming round for the 411th time.It was on April 13, 1598 or on April 30, 1598 (sources differ on the exact date) that the king of France, Henri IV signed the edict.With his signature the king pronounced the end of the religious wars which had ravaged the country. The protestants were re-instated as subjects of the crown and awarded the same civic rights the catholic subjects had enjoyed un-interruptedly. Most clock makers were protestants and had fled France to Switzerland, Germany, Great Britain and the Netherlands some years earlier. A great many of them decided to go home to their native country again. It is how France became the number one time keeping device country again.It was the revocation of the Edict of Nantes by one of Henry IV's successor, the famous Louis XIV in 1685 which lead to a new exodus of the protestant clock makers to Switzerland. And this exodus permitted the Swiss to lay the foundations of their own watch

Fair Price of a serviced / rebuilt 321 Speedy
Hi all,Just wondering how much is a fair price of a serviced / rebuilt 321 Speedy?I have a '69 speedy 145-022 ST with 861 movement, and I got an offer for almost like new 321 Speedy with 1161 bracelet. I got a chance to meet with the seller face to face to inspect the speedy.Looking at the dial, it is new dial with batons etc. The hexalite crystal is also new (with the omega logo on the crystal). The case also looks pristine.The caseback doesn't look shiny with worn scratches but seems to be either a new or a replacement. My '69 is shiny but full of scratches.It looks like somebody bought a 321 movement and rebuilt everything with parts (maybe from ofrei).I know 321 is a holy grail and I want one too but what is a fair value / price for a not so vintage 321 speedy here. Sorry no pictures yet.Thanks in advance for any advice from all of you
