Hi Guys, New to WTF. Great site. I thought I would post up a few pics of my new to me 2004 Sea dweller. Enjoy. Thanks for looking :)
Anyone ever owned a Khaki Frogman in titanium? Is it as prone to scratching as legend says?
Not counting a mid-'80s gold-plated day-date model (on which the plating had begun to wear severely 15 years later, and which I gave away soon after). This is a second-series Alpinist from about 1963. It was the superbly designed dial which first drew me to the watch, when a collector friend showed his on another forum a couple of years ago. When this appeared for sale (from another collector) it took me a few weeks to bite the bullet, but I'm so glad I did. No wear on the case back:Correct "W" crown:No movement photo yet; I'm not going to attempt to remove the tight snap-back case back by myself. I think it's a caliber 851? Manual-wind, and keeping superb time.I actually have it on this JB Champion mesh for now:
I've been debating for weeks between a GP and Schumi Ti.I was able to see the beautiful MS last week, in person, for the first time - but i would really like to be able to also see a GP in the flesh.I happen to be going to Vegas next week - I'm sure there would probably not be any dealer with a GP but are there maybe pre-owned shops that have a large selection of AP's that might have one?Alternatively, I also live in the SF Bay area - if anyone happens to know good places to check in the area that I might be able to check one out.The GAS is killing me but Im wary of making a decision, only having seen one of the watches in question.thanks!
