Sometimes I feel that my vintage watch collection is more of a dog pound, compared to the rare breeds and grand champion show watches I see here. I hope you don't mind if I take up the forum bandwidth with some of my loved rescue watches from time to time. I think I'm doing it not to show off but to prove to myself and maybe other beginners that you don't need to start out in this hobby by collecting perfect multi-hundred dollar examples. I have many watches that I love to wear and keep running that show their hard long history in all of their scratches and warts. They have proved they were used and useful tools by their appearance and connect me to the people that wore them every day and the people that built them with such care that they still work today. Here is a Waltham 6/0-c that I can't bear to part out. It came to me with a lug bent so badly that the back wouldn't stay on. The dial was stained. I straightened it up and tried to even out the "patina" on the dial and I wear it at
