TAG Heuer TAG Heuer 8489 wrist watches news:
I was curious if anyone had some good pics of a 2254 with a nice leather strap. I'm thinking about buying one to give my watch some diversity. Also, how much do they usually run and where do you all recommend buying them. Omega genuine strap or other brands???-Thanks
So now you can send me your watches when you need some service. Here I will show you how it works.I start with the universal case holder. It¡äs no problem to get it open with correct tools. The I use the crown release toolAnd the tiny crown holder. Then I pull out the movement. The crown holder it¡äs a multi tool who can pull off thehands too. Unfortunately it didn¡ät works on chronographs. Then I will looking for things that not will be in placeuntil next service. I found out the logo need some new glue.I have to do some works with the hands, the conditionis bad and some minor adjustments will help.Time to see whats up below the dial.Nothing fancy, just the date wheel. So I have to pull off the date wheel to get a littledeeper inside the movement. Not so many parts left here. You have to be careful when you pull off the rotor, it¡äseasy to damage it.This time i was lucky, no problems to get it off.Now I will pull off the rotor bearing bridge. That was easy too.And the special halfgear that shows it
My love affair with Omega Bought my first Omega in 1993, a quartz seamaster which was almost never off my wrist until May 2010 when it finally died, during that period I recognised that I needed a 'smarter' watch for special occasions so in March 2000 bought a 18ct yellow gold day date speedmaster with alligator strap which at the time was ?3050 but I wanted the silver dial which was an extra ?25, a 12 week wait ensued and I was eventually rewarded with a truly magnificent timepiece, which would only be worn on special occasions, incidentally this now sells for ?7900!!! I now had a predicament, wear the speedy and risk damage or buy something else, so I bought a ralatively cheap Seiko and good as it was I still missed my Seamaster, I have just bought a new Seamaster (quartz) and it it fantastic, hopefully this one will stay on my wrist for the next 17 years!!!
Here's a photo of my wife's Lord Elgin jump-hour watch from the 1950's. At 34mm, the watch is just the right size for her. Here's another shot...
Hard to capture the different hues and reflections ... from jet black to silver with just a flick of the wrist.
