On the 18th of last month, HODINKEE hosted an event with Tiffany & Co. at their flagship boutique on 5th Avenue. The event was a continued celebration of the CT60 Collection, named for Tiffany founder Charles Lewis Tiffany. For more information on the CT60 Collection see our video here. Not just monetarily either so keep your eyes on the Sales Forum. I've got to get rid of the majority of my collection so a fire sale will be happening soon. I need to become a normal human again, and that means forsaking all this neurotic WIS behavior. I'm going to put the pictures of all dress watches (vintage or not) in one hat and pull a winner, then offer the rest for sale. It will be a pity but it's one important part in my own 12 step program. Next comes the sports watches - since my Breitling was a gift, it stays but the rest must go. I'll still keep my grandfather's Bulova and the Orange Monster as a beach/fishing beater. 4 watches. ONLY 4 WATCHES. That's all that's going to be left. As for the others: get'em while they're hot!
During the day...This afternoon...
Arrived today, a 2534.50 Seamaster GMT 300m, 50th anniversary. This has always been my favorite Omega. Couldn't be happier!!
I¡¯m currently considering my next purchase and the 40mm SS Yachtmaster has caught my eye, although I¡¯m not yet sure whether blue or dark rhodium. My question is simple:If I could get hold of an Oysterflex bracelet/strap would it be a perfect fit on the steel version of the watch? From pictures of the Everose model, it looks like the clasp would transfer easily and the strap would just fit between the lugs in the usual way on the springbars. Anyone have any experience of this ? Am I being overly simplistic? - I know Rolex has some very smart ways to prevent a mix & match approach between watches. If anyone has any pictures of a successful fit then even better! Thanks all.
