Tissot T0064282203800 wrist watches news:
Hey guys!I found this Vintage Seiko in my bins last night, hoping you guys can tell me more about it....................Looks like it's from the 1970's perhaps ? ? ?It has this funky 9 sided crystal that is pretty scratched up but the rest of the watch is in fair condition.PLUS, it's running and keeping time too boot!I found a used leather 18mm brown Alligator band in another bin so I installed it just to wear it for awhile today. This watch probably came with a metal band I would imagine ? ? ? ? ?It's a 21 jewel automatic with a day/date feature, the day featured has two options, one in English and one in some other language. It has a brown/golden two tone dial.I searched hundreds of Seikos on the bay last night and I could NOT find another identical watch that has this brown/golden dial, nothing even close.Anybody know anything about this old Seiko ? ? ? ? ?I see that some vintage Seikos are worth a few bucks but most are pretty cheap to obtain.
As I couldn¡¯t decide whether to put this in the Ball forum or the Longines forum, I decided to try here. If any of our excellent mods thinks this belongs elsewhere, please move it as needed.I¡¯ve had my WAD (Watch Acquisition Disease) in remission for the past 4 or 5 months and hoped to be able to keep it in check. Vain hope, and I¡¯ve had a nasty relapse in the last couple of weeks! I¡¯ve never been one to ask ¡°help me decide¡±, but I¡¯ve been chewing on this non-stop for a week and need to make a decision...I¡¯ve wanted something along the visual lines of the Rolex Explorer I for quite a while. Normally, I¡¯d be the first one to say ¡°then get one and be done with it¡±, but I¡¯m just not ready to drop that much coin. I could, but something in my psyche just won¡¯t let me do it yet.My AD of choice will give me a good price on either of these watches, but having not seen either one in person, I just can¡¯t decide. I'd really like to hear opinions and thoughts on these two pieces. My thanks and
One of Renato's most captivating designs, ever! Brilliant silver-tone stainless steel covered in raised Claus de Paris texture constructs the round case. A dual-curved Swiss made sapphire crystal with six layers of anti-reflective coating exists within the textured bezel while a single hexagonal screw appears at each corner of the 14mm thick case. The round, Claus de Paris textured, four-component, stamped satin dial, in your choice of salmon or chocolate brown, features ten functional hexagonal screws and displays silver-tone white luminous Arabic numerals at 8:00 and 12:00 and silver-tone white luminous index markers at all remaining hour positions. Sunken sub dials are stationed near 2:00, 6:00 and 10:00 with a date window conveniently located at 4:00. Silver-tone white luminous hour, minute, chronograph and sub dial hands deliver the time.A massive silver-tone stainless steel bracelet executed in a combination of smooth links and Claus de Paris textured links tapers to 26mm and secu
I've seen several extremely nice older pocket watch movements re-cased as wrist watchesusually coming from the Ukraine through eBay. Aside from the often absurd sizes (often 50+mm), I think many of them look pretty good. I've been looking at some smaller ones - under 45mm, but not too many pocket watch movements can be put into such a wrist watch case, so they're harder to find. Anyone here have any experience with any of them? I don't have any real issues with the idea of a re-cased watch, as long as it looks reasonable, and hopefully was done to a loose movement, or severely worn/damaged watch. What say ye all?
Hi TRF,I am blessed to have an opportunity to acquire another piece. I am on the fence between acquiring the 2016 IWC Big Pilot (5009 with the number 9) or PAM 233 (am/pm). Here are my current humble collection to give you an idea of what I currently have: Black face SS Daytona, Yachtmaster, SubC, PAM 425 and PAM 557. I love both of them equally and acquiring both is not an option. Thanks TRF for your invaluable inputs.
