Tissot T013.420.17.207.00 wrist watches news:
Over its decade-plus in existence, Greubel Forsey has produced some highly complicated watches, nearly all of which have featured at least one tourbillon. For its new Signature 1 timepiece, introduced in January at SIHH 2016, the haute horlogerie brand founded by Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey takes a different route. The Greubel Forsey Signature 1 is the first in the new Signature collection, which will feature the works of a single watchmaker, applying his or her own creative vision to a watch that still maintains all of the distinctive horological DNA of Greubel Forsey. The watchmakers ¡ª in this case, one Didier J.G. Cretin, a longtime member of the brand’s watchmaking team ¡ª will draw on all of the technical resources and expertise of Greubel Forsey’s ultra-modern watchmaking atelier in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, to execute these original concepts, remaining true to the philosophy and standards of the brand while also enjoying a considerable amount of creative fr
Some people are going to be really excited about the upcoming Arnold & Son Golden Wheel watch which marks a new "Star Wheel" style complication which many collectors have great enthusiasm for. This is a concept also known as "wandering hours" which has been around since at least the 18th century - though it is rare to find in watches today. The Arnold & Son Golden Wheel will mark a welcome return to the wandering hours concept with a little bit of Arnold & Son character and a lovely classic style."Star Wheel" is actually the name for a collection of watches from Audemars Piguet that was the last to emulate this style of watch. No longer produced, the Audemars Piguet Star Wheel came in a round case or in a Millenary form with the Audemars Piguet Millenary Star Wheel watch which Frank Geelen offered some hands-on with here. You can see the use of three transparent discs which revolve like a system of planetary gears which move an hour marker along a minute track. However,?the
O.K., I may be reaching here, but I just bought some Swatch Irony Diaphne automatic watches. They all have aluminum accents (face and back rings) and one of them has an aluminum band (let me tell you, if you are not married to the idea that your watch should weigh a ton, it's very cool for it to weigh almost nothing).I am VERY careful with my watches. I don't abuse them, bump them into things, block doors with them, etc. However, even the most babied watch can get some scratches and dings, and nothing shows that better than aluminum. So, here's my logicSwatch crystals and cases are mostly acrylic polycarbonate. People have been cleaning and smoothing them for years with everything from tooth paste, to buffing compound, to specialized polishes. They can even be protected, somewhat, with some of those same plastic polishes or even car wax. Is it possible to use a clear car wax or some such product on bare, unpainted, aluminum, to create a clear coat that will hold up to most basic w
For the folks who haven't given vintage a try...Sometimes, you have to look beneath the crystal to see what lurks.N0 equals 1970 which is what I was looking for. Ballerina caseback is always good.So I bought it.but I'm getting ahead of myself. Before I was born, okay a year before but who's counting, my dad was in Vietnam. While he was there, he purchased a Bulova Accutron Deep Sea. When I got out of basic training, he passed it to me. I ran around Europe and the Middle East with it on my wrist.Fast forward to 2005. I had a break in and it was stolen. (I hate theives )Now, I talked to Pop about it and he said he bought it in late 1970 or early 1971. I decided to get a 1970. Now, I could have gone 1971, year of my birth, etc, but it didn't feel right.Where was I.oh yeah. So I bought it.I located a watchmaker with a NOS crystal in stock and off it went. Told him no polishing, just a deep cleaning, service and crystal. After a long waitit's probably been a year since I bought it, it's back.
With the Deep Blue Sea.Works great with a suit too!Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
