Considering a new Omega PO Chrono or Solar Impulse
I'm currently considering trading in my Breitling Navitimer World for an OmegaThe former's polish is a bit too difficult to maintain. I've narrowed my choices down to either an Omega Speedmaster Solar Impulse or a 2011 Planet Ocean Chrono. While I like the SI's GMT complication, the titanium case has me worried about long-term finish durability. I already own an Omega Seamaster Pro Chrono, and its satinized finish has held up very well over the last 2 years.Which would you choose, and why?

Crystal Care Secrets Needed...
As many of us are vintage collectors here, I'm sure we all have to deal with scratches on our plastic crystals. I have a couple of watches with scratched crystals that can probably be buffed out, which I would rather do instead of sourcing NOS crystals, which can take time, effort and money, but I'm not sure which way is best and which way get's the best results. So what are your "secrets" for taking out those pesky scratches from your watch crystals?

Can you explain GMT watches to me? ...
I kind of like watches with GMT or 24h hands. Not watches with a 24h dial only (was that Yantar and/or Glycine?). I mean instead watches that have the 3 usual hands and a 12h dial, plus a 4th hand that only traverses the dial once every 24 hours. The Rolex GMT being the classic example.10 years ago I had a Citizen Eco-Drive model like this.One criticism that I sometimes read, of some of them, is that the 24 h or GMT hand is not "independently adjustable." What does that mean in this context? Any examples of some watches that are and aren't?Thanks in advance!Chris

thinking my next watch may be a panerai but.....
hiI'm pretty interested in a pam 356 chrono....the daytona is just too small for me and have it be a chrono. i like the size of the omega speedy but to me, the bezel looks a bit cheesy (sorry for the rhyme)....and i love the crown guards on the panerai.....however, in as much as the references to the italian navy don't instil confidence with me, i am used to the reliability of rolex and i really have zero tolerance for a watch that needs maintenance.....i don't want the 'have to tinker with it' ferrarri type, but instead like the reliability of the mercedes or honda type -exclusive of quality issues....bottom line: am i setting myself up for issues with the pam 356 or other pams? should i look to iwc's ? thanks in advance...
