Tudor 20200 wrist watches news:
I've asked a guy on youtube about the co-axial escapement a couple of months ago, and i received this answer just yesterday....To make things worse for the inventor of the co-axial, Dr. Daniels, Seiko introduced a movement that did away with escapments all together! You wind the watch up and it only has one way motion of the wheels (!), no escapment! On top of that its the worlds only mechanical watch with quartz accuracy. It blows away anything from Rolex, Patek, Omega, ect. Please tell your opinion about this...
Picked up my Citizen Wingman from the watchmaker today. He gave it a service (the hands needed lubrication, they would only move when on my wrist - i.e. once the oil warmed up), and he found a new crystal for me since the original is long out of production. I bought this while posted to Singapore in 1990. It has seen a lot of wrist time, and it was cheap to service/replace the crystal ($95 NZD) Lume is nothing to write home about, and the strange thing is that it has no backlight, but I love it just the same.It has the usual functions: alarm, countdown timer, stopwatch, hourly chime, 12/24 time display, date, etc & a bi-directional rotating bezel with calculation scales.
I found it very hard to believe but in searching watches made today I found it almost impossible to find a style/color combo that resembled the watches my father wore when I was growing up. He has been gone for over 30 years and I have no idea where any of his watches went. Anyway, the best I could find was a gold tone Hamilton Boulton. I do not remember my father wearing a watch with a strap, but I also do not rememmber him wearing anything but a gold watch. So, I fiugure get the watch first and deal with strap/bracelet later. The picture is not mine but, it is the watch I ordered tonight. As soon as it gets here, I will take and post pics.
Ordering an Elephant tomorrow, but have 6 wrist. Need a smaller strap than the stock one.Better to add an extra hole to the stock one or order a small strap? Where would I go about ordering a smaller strap from? Any recommendations?
I'm assuming this is massively overpriced. I am looking for one but for nowhere near as much as they are asking. I know these are not readily available but can be bought from masterchrono branded with the manufacturer but I am not a fan of the new cufflink insert and the old insert is only available in black and orange. am I way off base, will someone actually pay this much for them?
