U-Boat 5570 wrist watches news:
Classy-ish looks, gold case, Carrousel rather than tourbillon (don't worry if you don't understand what the difference is - just watch the video above about 13 times and you might figure it out), minute repeater, highly skeletonized and exposed movement, limited to 10 pieces, about $360,000. Or otherwise, just your typical daily wear timepiece from Blancpain!See my full article on the Blancpain Carrousel R¨¦p¨¦tition Minutes Le Brassus watch here over at Haute Living. Hello,I have an Omega De Ville, there is no markings on the back side. Here's a pic of it. Please help.I'd like to know the year, movement, etc.Thank you
Hi all,At our staff Christmas party last weekend, four Omegas were proudly worn by staff.Viewing them all, I decided there and then that I have to have an Omega.Alas, I am not particularly well versed on Omega, so I would like to hear views on the following three models before I go shopping...212.30.41.20.01.0012220.80.002535.80.00Of particular interest to me are the pros and cons of the two different movements, and if there are any noted issues with either movement. Also, do limited edition watches mean inflated purchase prices? The watch I purchase will be a daily wearer (terra firma most often, office environment, country living - so some exposure to dust, dirt, animals), and probably an heirloom piece, so please take these two points into consideration for comments on wear and tear, as well as longevity of the watches.Thankyou in advance for your comments.
Hi. In canvassing the web for Pateks, I notice some big ones that seem to suggest old movements from 1880s or so, purportedly pocket watches of that era that have now been converted into wrist watches, keeping the original 'enamel casing' but now housed in glass. Dial size is a massive 45mm to even 51mm (at which size it could be worn on the forearm more than on the wrist). I would imagine these would border on fakes but the machinery seems genuinely from that time, which means it's original Patek and the official servicing might still be supported. And the sellers who sell this type of stuff are rated 100% positive on big ecommerce sites -- like the bay one. So the watches seem legit. One of the sellers says that these movements are genuine and widely covered in the Patek books. How can I confirm (or otherwise) these claims? Where can I find these books? Google doesn't turn up anything meaningful. The seller has been quite convincing -- and he's the owner of a pretty solid looking bus
