U Boat 1840 wrist watches news:
here you go guys hope you approve !greg
Just got out of my AD. I've been thinking of getting me a Sub. Still contemplating if I should get an LV or reg date. Anyway, the lady stated that they (Rolex) have discontunued making the LV. Any truth to this that any of our knowledgable members might have heard of? AD personels are known to beyou all know.
I have been running tests on one of my Rolexes and other watches. I found something really important. If this has been mentioned somewhere before, I haven't seen it. I didn't really know this. So, I got a couple watches, wound them up, took them upstairs and watched them off and on for 24 hours. Both were 12 seconds too fast, or so. So, I thought I would reset the Rolex and wear it for 24 hours. Now I am at 27 hours and I'm pleased to report the Rolex is +4 sec fast. Well within COSC specs. I'm relieved. On my other wrist for testing purposes is a Ball Night Train. It has done about 15 hours at this point. It is +2 sec fast. Also within COSC specs. What have I learned? That body temp and movement keeps your watch running accurately - and is probably good for your watch.I was keeping all of my watches in a room in my basement. It is a bit cool down there. We do little downstairs, so it is not kept at comfortable room temps. I have proven to myself that these somewhat coole
Oh no, i wanted to set the time on my Rad 210 and pulled out the crown, like usual ... But it came out and I was holding the whole thing with stem in my hand ... I did put it back, screwed it closed then opened it again ... I could set the time and wind the watch ... It did not come out a second time after i put it back in ... Also i had to pull it again in order to set the time ...What now?It keeps the time, it ticks as normal ...How is the stem fitted usually? Thanks in advance for your comments.
Gents (and Ladies),We all know Rolex is not necessarily an investment. But does it beat or keep up with inflation? Obviously, this is a broad question and there are endless models ranging from vintage to current models. I wanted to get a sense when one buys a Rolex, does one feel that with time they will at least get back what they paid for the watch and more?I feel this is more applicable in current times with people referring to the stock market as an 'asset bubble' and bonds and savings accounts offering meek returns. It has been advised to keep precious metals (ie. gold, silver) in the range of 5-10% n their portfolio. Would jewlery such as a Rolex be a worthwhile 'investment' as a storehouse of wealth? Thanks in advance.
