Our grandparents bought their clocks, silverware and watches from jewelry stores (AD's). As competition heated, a lot of companies started importing or taking their manufacturing off shore and found other ways to sell their goods cheaper and through other channels..Timex is a good example as they started selling their watches in department stores and even drug stores(unheard of at that time) at much cheaper prices. This put a lot of pressure on companies like Hamilton who kept their product at top quality and protected the jewelry stores margins. Soon the cheaper watch was the watch de jour and the rest is history (this scenario is quite simplified but accurate enough for this thread)...With prices going up, the internet and gray market dealers, are AD's(jewelry stores, watch stores) headed into obscurity as watch dealers? I have heard that watches are probably the item with the smallest margin of any item sold in a jewelry store...What do you think?

AP 15202 question
I just picked up AP 15202 couple days ago; but found that mine was H-serie with all the appearances of the I-serie (e.g. AP logo, Swiss made layout). Is this normal practice by AP to still distribute H-serie;while already launched the I-serie?? Does it have anything to do with regions or country of purchase? Any comment would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
