- Black finish wears off far too quickly for this to be a timepiece worn daily for an extended period of time. Not a good value when appearance is commised by poor finish and lack of durability.

U-Boat 6473 wrist watches news:
A friend was admiring my TT GMT2C and asked how much the model costs now. (I bought mine second-hand, but unworn, last December, for ?3,700). I was shocked to find it's now gone up to ?5,970! If anyone has discussed what must be a recent price hike I apologise, but I found it a little on the harsh side. Presumably many other models have increased at roughly the same rate......
As I posted on the Rolex forum, this is my Grandfathers watch. My Grandfather used to own a flying school and the Navi was given to him as a gift for training someone to fly. He never wore it and gave it to my Mum to look after until I was old enough to wear it. I had a New NOS crystal and a movement overhaul with NOS parts done 5-6 years ago. The Dial and hands are 100% original and I have the box and manual as well...Enjoy....Taken in a lightbox at last years Tampa GTG by John Brodczyk. The next shots are taken by Milos, our Patek Moderator.....
So I took the watches in for "fixin'" and the Hammy is going to be $42...bad circuit board...he says by Friday. He was also suprised it went bad because as he pointed out they use a much higher quality ETA quartz in the Hamilton than in Victronox quartz, which he carries.Next the Timex got a new crystal for $18 I hope, I'll tell you why later, but since my son wore it for about 10 days it hasn't gotten much use.I also took in an old Victronox Renegade and he's putting a whole new movement in that for $24.So "hopefully" Friday they'll all be done and working. Now on to my next idea and if its not allowed, moderators feel free to dump this post.I've decided that, assuming the Timex is fixed and something weird doesn't happen, and the Victronox I want to give away on here. (stole the idea).Realize they are both used and do show wear, but here's the catchI want it to go to a child, nephew, niece, etc. Why? Because that's the future of our hobby, our kids. My boys don't want either watch
This is a special incoming for me. My wife and I are expecting our second child and first son in about a month from now. I’m a 2nd and my son will carry on the family name and be the 3rd. I decided to start a family tradition and buy this watch to one day give to my son so he could wear and enjoy with the understanding that he will continue the tradition and pass the family name and watch to his future son.My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon at AP so the brand has special meaning to us. While at AP they mentioned they could make a custom skeleton rotor with my initials on it. I plan to do this before giving the watch to my son.
how do you think the mod looks
