Wow, I've been gone for a little bit! Mainly due to the flu, work, and birthdays (March is a crazy month for birthdays in my family).To the meat of this thread. I get to go to Las Vegas for the first time ever next week! I plan on going to all the Rolex AD's that i can find. I was wondering if there are any that I must go to. I know of the one at the casino that John reported on but any else? If I win big I'll make sure to bring one home and of course post pics.

Patek making life difficult
Guys,It seems to me that enjoying and collecting Patek watches is tough at this point in time. Many of the hot references are almost like seeking unobtainium. I am only thinking of the current references. The 5524 and 5711 blue dial are going for over list. The 5930 is seldom found (although it is in it's infancy). Nautilus's are tougher than ever to source. All this frustration is painful and yet in the end it really helps all of us protect our so called investment. (I struggle calling a watch an investment).Love them or hate them, Patek and their AD's do a good job protecting their brand yet I still find them so frustrating to predict and work with. Perhaps this varies depending upon where you live. I am thrilled I have a 5711 and empathize with those wanting one. Here is where I will get bashed - but for me I do think they should limit the availability on those who call the 5711 and 5167 as entry watches. One watch guy but want to wear something else every couplle of years
So I have a 2016 Explorer that I love. I have this watch since last year Christmas.In the future, let¡¯s say a couple of years I like a GMT2. And after that, some years more, a Day-Date. My goal is just to wear a quality wrist watch for the rest of my life, not filling a watch box. Besides that not breaking the bank. Timeline is loosely like this: I am 39 years old now, somewhere at 42 get the GMT2. At 45/47 get the Day-Date.The Day-Date is not a real end-game watch or grail to me (but hey: that President¡¯s bracelet ), after that I might get into AP, PP etc.I feel I have no any problem to sell my current watch because it will be replaced by another great watch. No sentimental value or passing it on etc.I like to hear from other ¡°one watch guys¡± who have the same game plan or are already on this path.
