Audemars Piguet occupies a very interesting place in the pantheon of modern watchmakers. It is truly independent, with two members of the Audemars family still playing an active role in the manufacture's development. It balances watchmaking of the very highest order – think tourbillons, advanced escapements, and grand complications – with watches immediately recognizable to the average person on the street. And it has remained entrenched on home soil in the small village of Le Brassus, situated right in the heart of the Vallée de Joux. help identifying watch with 982 movement
hi guys. i know, i knowi said that i wasn't going to buy any new hamiltons.BUT, i found this:this one is my restoration project. upon doing some research i found that watches using the 982 movement were the : brock, brockton, Ross, Gilman. The Ross and Gilman are with the hinged lugs though any thoughts on the identity of this watch?

AP accessories
Over the last year I've been building a small collection of AP accessories from Books, Baseball Hats, Key fobs, cases, loupes, glove and golf markers. I have 3 or 4items left all Brand new and wanted to offer them up to fellow enthusiasts. I Im not looking to sell but in parallel to collecting accosories ive also built up a nice little library and instead would be open to a swap with a coffee table book on Patek, Lange, Rolex or Other luxury watch brands.

Predictions anyone?
With Panerai gradually moving in house, or should I say already have what will happen to the demand and prices of the following discontinued models like the 000,005,111,112?The above models had so much to offer, something we don't see in the range anymore. An easily serviceable ETA movement, lugs that use screws instead of push pins , a screwed case back instead of a pushed one (1000,1005), sandwich dials (only reserved for top models now). It's sad how lately I've been reading up on the brand and they are moving upscale. All the features stated are gone and when I went to the boutique hoping to get my hands on their new entry level models like the 510,560 I was sad to see that they didn't have sandwich dials. What¡¯s a nice watch under 3,500$?
I¡¯m looking for a nice 2nd watch to pair with my Rolex sd4000. Im trying to stick to my budget of 3,500$. Any suggestions? Any brand. Thanks
