Increasing watch sizes over the years.
Hi all.I was going through some of my old watches and I am quite amazed at the watches that I had in my pre-WIS days. They are in the first picture. The square Seamaster quartz was given to me by my parents in 1988, when I completed my undergrad degree. The Tag Formula One I bought when I entered law school in 1989.Believe it or not, but they are (were) men's size watches .I have since punched extra holes in the Tag strap and given it to my 9-year-old son. He loves it and it looks quite size-appropriate for him .They are positively dinky compared to my PO and my Glycine Airman D24 in the next two pictures.Just thought I'd share.

So, it got me to thinking about my Deville co-axials. By the way, I am no master of Photoshop so what you see is pretty much what the camera captured. It was a very enjoyable experience to play around like this. You may know there is a calibre 2500B and 2500C, which differed in the B version being 8 beats per second/28,800 and the C being 7 beats a second/25,200. The Deville above is a 2500B and runs at 8 beats a second, which you can see at higher magnification.A half second exposure is a little easier to see:I like this one, but should have cleaned the watch better!!Next I tried to get my Deville GMT, which has a 2628C, running at 7 beats a second/25,200 and the Deville above set to the same time and get a photo of both second hands with a one second exposure. Another shotClose ups of each hand, 7 beat 2628C GMT on left, 8 beat 2500B on the rightBefore moving on, I just loved the lighting on the blued second hand on the 2500BSo, what about chronographs?5 beat a second/18,000 1940s L

To redo or not to redo................
Good morning/day/evening friends,I'm about to send my 1948 Longines to Switzerland for the service. One of us gave me an idea to concider redo the refinished dial back to original specification . What is your's opinion on this almost Hamlet's question ?Thanks,Leon

Aqua Terra 2812 & 2503 people chime in!
Google lead me to this site a few days ago and I've read a bunch of threads since. I was wondering if more AT enthusiasts would put up real life pictures of their watches in different leather strap combinations.I went to an AD a few days ago and saw the 2812.30 (white dial/blue markers & hands/brown leather strap) in person - and was blown away by it. The only things holding me back are price (may get the 2503 instead) and the neutrality of the brown leather strap - most of my suits are black/navy/charcoal and I'm a little concerned they may clash with a watch I'll hopefully be wearing every day at work.I've also seen a couple variations here on the ATs usually found online, and they looked really good - for instance, someone posted a pic of a white dial/blue marker AT 2503, but it had a black or dark blue thick-ish leather strap, not the usual SS bracelet. I can't seem to find that post at the moment, but I'm curious what other color/strap variations have worked well in real life
