Vacheron Constantin 43040/000J-8011 wrist watches news:
Thanks to Watchfan1, Scott, Tony, Marco for the 5205g inspiration. The posted threads did help convince me to go for this Patek model, my first one after a string of Panerais and Rolexes. As mentioned earlier, I was "smitten" by this model upon seeing the print ads in my local AD watch magazine. That was around January when I pulled a trigger on another watch and was given an annual copy of their magazine. At around that time, my whole horology world was revolving around Rolex Day-Date on rhodium dial. Also, a Patek grand Calatrava rose gold model was also in my radar. Fortunately or unfortunately, it was not to be as those watch models were not available in my local AD.With not much information available in my local watch club forum, I decided to do more research by "googling", in which I stumbled on this great forum. Looking at purchasing an Emergency or Emergency Mission. The watch will be worn while flying as well as during normal activities like showering, some swimming, basically an everyday watch when I am not wearing a suit. I see that the Emergency is only water resistant to 30m! (3 bar), which would really disqualify it from showering and swimming, correct? I understand the WR rating is based on pressure to the case and not actual water depth. The Emergency Mission on the other hand is WR to 100m, which seems more suitable for the above activities. Thoughts and experiences welcome. Matt
These two references have gotten some nice attention recently. If you were to pick one of the two in platinum, which would you choose? Thanks in advance. Pics borrowed from the interweb:
DavidSW had an M serial 3186 on his site around spring/summer 2017 for 15k. Now he has a newly listed Z serial 3186 for 19k.....lol. Curious as to who would buy this?https://davidsw/product/rolex-16...3186-movement/Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Does anyone know what solid link oyster bracelets will fit on the 16570 Explorer II? And does anyone have any pictures of such?
