- I ordered this watch - beautiful but too large for my wrist. The description states 5 1/2 wrist to 7 1/4. I have a wrist and the watch is so large it turns around. will have to return it, but would love to keep it.

U-Boat U-Boat 20095 wrist watches news:
Hi, I'm new to this forum and was needing a little help from anyone. My dad got a watch in the late 70's early 80's from his dad as a gift. This is his dress watch and has never worn it more than just about once a month since he got it. I remember playing with it when I was little. Now my grandpa has been gone since 1989 and my dad treasures this watch. Last month he hit his watch on something and broke the face. The watch face is not a circle or a oval shape. Can anyone help me out? I am wanting to send it off to get it repaired for him, but I cannot find a single piece of info on it through the internet.I could not get a clearer picture. The numbers on the back are H239-5070 and the serial number is 138378.
As some of you may have experienced, being inspired by Stan and his work can be a scary thing. I have recently dipped a toe into the deep waters of pre30's Elgins. First up is a 1927 3/0 size grade 462. This is the movement featured in many of Stan's Pershings. I picked it up on Ebay for $16 and change and ran it through the ultrasonic. It's keeping good time but the balance swing is less than 180 deg so I may need to look for a mainspring. It's in an Illinois Spartan nickel case. Is the engraving on the case supposed to be filled with enamel? If so, how do you get enamel into the sides of the center case. The finish looks like a fine sand cast rather than polished. If I brush paint into the engraving I'm not sure the excess will wipe off of the high points cleanly. My second geezer is a 1908 Elgin 0 size grade 354. It has some issues with its Starwhite case but is running strong and the movement looks amazing for 103 years old.It was an auction steal at $15.50. The back has been beaten

Hi, I've seen both the 2599.80 and 2225.80 on the used market, and was wondering what the differences were? As far as I can tell the blue on the dial and bezel are a little darker on the 2599, and the dial markings are a little different, any other differences? I know that the 2599 was discontinued, anyone know its years of production? Thanks,Paul
