Hi guys,I was hoping that someone here might be able to help me age and identify this watch. I believe that it is from the mid-1930's (serial number 627 387) but if I'm wrong please let me know.I'm also interested to know how much this watch would be worth fully serviced and restored, and how much that would cost (roughly) in it's current condition. Thanks,SeanAttachment 30125
The Monaco is the most significant model in Tag Heuer¡¯s history, and not because the coolest actor ever, Steve McQueen, wore one in a movie. I appreciate that Jack Heuers original marketing genius does allow Tag Heuer to continually use this as a means of publicity but I can think of many other significant reasons why the Monaco should feature within any collection of timepieces. I am aware that Steve McQueen personally chose the Monaco for his role in the 1969 ¡°Le Mans¡± film. Despite his good looks and personal charms being enough to warrant him the leading role in any blockbuster Steve McQueen did take his acting very seriously and his attention to detail was well known. Steve¡¯s eye for authenticity meant that he wanted to appea
Hi TRF,I'm a relatively new member on the forum, but have lurked for quite some time, and have also been in the watch game for almost half my life (which isn't as long as it sounds as I'm a young man, but you get the picture haha). I wanted to talk a little bit about the Rolex Skydweller, a watch that I've always found to be a very fascinating, beautiful, albeit polarizing piece from Rolex. It's a bit lengthy, but I guess I have an extending opinion on the piece I'll start by saying that I am in fact a happy owner of stainless Sky which I purchased not too long ago, so if I sound biased, it may be because I am haha! From what I've seen on the forum (and in the watch community as a whole), the Skydweller is far from being unanimously loved in the same way that say a Daytona or a GMT is; the label lukewarm comes to mind when I see the sentiments on the Sky. I always found it quite interesting that the Sky wasn't as well received and loved as I personally felt it should have been. Without
