Doxa Launches Diving With Legends Book and Watch
Peter Millar¡¯s book Diving With Legends profiles some of diving¡¯s greatest living legends, and Doxa Watches was proud to be on hand to help announce the launch of the book and a limited edition Diving With Legends watch. Several icons of the deep included in the book were on hand for the launch, and the event was made even more special as several members of the Doxa Watch Forum traveled from near and far to meet their diving heroes and share their Doxa diving stories. The legends in attendance included David Trotter, Martha Watkins-Gilkes, Dan Crowell, Richie Kohler, Howard Hall, Ralph Wilbanks, Stan Waterman, Paul Oberle, Leigh Bishop and Jarrod Jablonski. In his presentation, Dr. Millar introduced the book and its contributors. Following the presentation, each contributing author was presented with a copy of the Diving With Legends book, as well as a limited edition Doxa Sub 1200T Professional Diving With Legends watch. A couple of new Alpha chronos
Recently arrived Alpha Daytona and Newman. These are from Alpha USA, which come with view casebacks. Great watches, look great, running great. These use the Seagull Tianjin ST-19 movement modified with an additional 24 hour subdial at 6 o'clock to mimic a classic Tricompax look. I removed both bracelets. The bracelets Alpha uses on the Daytona/Newman models are pretty crappy. The chrono bracelets have good solid links with screws like the Alpha Sub bracelet, but cheap tinny single locking clasps and really cheap and flimsy looking hollow end links. The "semi-solid" end links and double locking clasp on the Alpha Sub bracelets are much better.I replaced the Newman's bracelet with that from an Alpha Sub. It was a tight fit, but once in place I think the look goes well with the case.

Is it worth it for solid gold?
Ok so I was in my usual grey dealer having a look tonight and to be honest the FC 44 isn¡¯t floating my boat so to speak ... so.. while I was there I noticed he had a solid gold 44mm novelty in mint full set 2014He proposed a deal to trade my FC and my sd4k +$4kusdNow I really like the solid gold and it¡¯s got heft but is this a good deal? Is it worth that much more then my forged carbon? The deal is in the table for 24hours only because he¡¯s got a buyer for the sd4k now... opionions guys? Am I gonna do my money on this?
