Hey gang,I pulled the trigger on a new SMP 2254.50 last weekend. I figured now was the time before they are phased out for the co-axal. My local AD gave me a 25% discount, and threw in a PO polishing cloth since it was my second watch from him.This is an AMAZING watch. I was/am in love with my speedy, but this is something else. The feel on the wrist is perfect. The sapphire crystal is very nice; this is my first watch that has one, and it does wonders for legibility. The lume is wonderful also, way better than the speedy or my invicta. The sweep on the second hand is smooth and flawless, way better than the invicta (which is the only other diver I have to compare it to). So far the avg error is +2 seconds. I've been using an excel sheet to track the error, and again I'm blown away at the accuracy of a mechanical movement. I'm glad I spent the money on this. Finished a Couple of Nice Elgin Trench Watches This Week
Just sharing (again).I finished a couple of pretty nice Elgin Trench Watches this week.First one is a 1917 Elgin with 7 jewels, B&B "Royal" gold filled semi-hermetic case with an offset crown (that is huge), original RED 12 dial (no hairlines), spade hands, big 16mm lugs.A few before/after of the case.Second one is a 1914 Elgin with 7 jewels, George Stockwell 9k solid gold case (double hinged), original Elgin military dial (no hairlines), big size 0s, Bund Strap.

My Bronze Diver saltwater diving - RAPID Patina pictures!!
I've been intrigued by bronze cases for quite awhile. As a diver and fan of all things nautical, a bronze diver seemed a logical addition to the collection. And the gold-like color is a look I really enjoy. However, I've never been a fan of the "vintage patina' look many vintage watches get, and feared the bronze would be no different and I'd constantly be cleaning it to restore to it's original color. Well I decided to "man up" and give it a try and so I sold off another watch to fund it and not too long ago picked up a nice preowned from one of our great members here.I really liked the watch from the second I saw it. It's a great look, and looked great on the wrist. I cleaned it a few times, and wasn't sure which way I liked it. I'd had a dive trip to Boca Raton / Pompano Beach planned, so I decided to take it with me and get it where it was designed to be - Diving! Omega PO 8500 Keeping perfect time 3 years later
Just wanted to share a pic of 45.5 black/black PO. I didn't like the watch when I first bought it but have really grown to like a lot. The thing I love most about the watch is that after almost 3 years of wearing constantly and having to rewind it maybe 4-6 times, it literally keeps perfect time from the start. I can't even say it is a quarter or half second off because after all this time it is still within a 30 second window of the time on my cell phone. To me, it makes it all that more valuable just because I have never owned a watch that is that spot on. I really don't think I could rid of it even if offered a premium. I know Rolex gets all the love, but I hear people being totally happy with +1 or -2 a day and mine is considerably more accurate. Anyone else have the success out of their 8500 movement in any of the models?Just to note, I have an approx. 7ish wrist and I think this size wears fine on me if anyone is thinking about obtaining the bigger version for themselves.p
