Sometimes we don't need to spend a lot to get a watch that does exactly what we want for an intended purpose. Take this one for instance. I bought it off the Bay' because I needed good Lume at night for Stargazing. This Lorus fit the bill and for only $15. total. Have you got a "Cheapie" that works for you now and then or even every day.
Sadly my Breitling was hit by my wife's keys and took some damage to the case.I'm sure I can have the case replaced during a service but when I brought it to an AD they said that a servicing would be close to $700 and didn't have a price for the case. The watch isn't due for a service for another couple of years and I was pretty shocked at the price. Damn near half of what I paid for the watch (new).Does anyone know where else I might be able to get the case replaced? The ding is near the 12 o'clock, right beneath the 5 on the bezel...Many thanks.Scott
Why would Rolex remove all references to 904L steel from its website except these two articles and begin calling their watch material Oystersteel?https://.rolex/rolex-history/1971-1992.htmlhttps://.rolex/watches/rolex-...materials.htmlOne of the articles says: Rolex became the first watchmaking brand to pioneer the use of 904L steel for the cases of all its steel watches. Most commonly used in high‑technology and in the aerospace and chemical industries, its excellent anti-corrosion properties are comparable to those of precious metals and it offers a final polish of exceptional sheen.Sounds perfect! Why can't Rolex just leave it at that? I guess it wants to differentiate itself from other future watch company users of 904L? It just seems silly. It was a nice development in 1985 when Rolex started using 904L and its easy for people to understand what 904L is once explained to them. Period. There is no need to give 904L a weird name to impress the unwashed masses. I guess Rolex sh
Hey guys, Yesterday I launched a new project, not intended to be a business but more of a creative outlet for myself. What better way to start this with a simple review from a watch nerd. This project will consist of a lot more than product reviews, I'll do street photography, thoughts on interesting topics, cars & motor photography, travel photography, watches, architecture and more. Hope you guys enjoy it.The Less is More Theory
