Hi....I am new to the forum and I am in a dilema, Help........I have an 5700 air king with date..........I purchased it last year from the widow of a member of the R.A.F. who after the war (world war II ) was recruited by PAN AM..........when he retired in 1975...PAN AM presented him the rolex. When I bought it 35 years later I was the first to wear it, it had never been worn, he prefered a watch that his wife had bought him on her wedding day ! ............I have alway wanted a Submariner 16610 and now finally 2 days ago I bought one, so this is the problem......I need to sell the air-king to finance the Sub, you wouldn't believe me if I told you how much I paid for it (the Sub).........now should I give up eating, the car and holidays and keep the air- king, or should I sell it !!!! Thats the dilema
Hi there!I am new to the forum and have registered to find out a thing or two before my purchase. As it seems I am currently thinking of buying a.m. watch and want to know a few things. If someone could first of all tell me if it is even an original since I can't find it on Hamilton website?! Secondly I dont know anything about the movement so I'd like some info from those who have watches with same movement(I think it runs on ETA 2893).I'm wondering because it retails for some 800$ which seems like a bargain for ltd edition with ETA! And I like the looks as well.Thats all for my first post.Tnx in advance and soory to be so nosy for the first time.BRMarko
Hi allI have always been into cars, but now that I am retired and have been reading and looking at the internet, watches have really grabbed me. I need some opinions on two new purchases. I have owned a Rolex GMT Master 1675 that I bought new over 30 years ago. I also have a Rolex TT Datejust 1601 that I bought over 20 years ago. I recently bought a Rolex Oyster Centregraph in gold and very original. I also just got a Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox alarm watch in 10kt gold plating. Also all original. The Centregraph is quadrupled signed and is from 1945. The LeCoultre is triple signed and is from 1955. I really like the looks and attention they both get, although the Centregraph is quite small. Both watches have arabic numbers. Opinions on the last two would be welcomed. Thanks
Hello All,Brand new to the forum and looking for a Quality German watch. I have viewed quite a few posts here and like Tourby's line of watches. Does anyone have any experience with them? I have contacted them via email, and they seem nice enough, but looking for real world experience with them and their watches. Quality, craftsmanship, appreciation on purchase price, etc. Looking for something that in the future I can pass on to one of my children. Thanks,Phil
