New Omega Owner
Hi everyone. I would just like to randomly thank the entire Omega forum for all of their unknowing assistance with my purchase. I have read pretty much every post about the Seamaster 2254.50 over the past few days, as well as drooled over the photos of quite of few of your Seamasters as well. I apologize, I will clean the drool up from the forum.The two watches that it came down to were the 2254.50 and the Seamaster Aqua Terra. In the end, with the discontinuation of the 2254.50, I figured I should get that one while it was still around. I also followed which pictures I would stop at more frequently, which was the 2254.50.The black dial, the sword hands, and the "perfect" way it sits on so many of your wrists and the other variety of objects which seem to accompany the photos, made the decision so much easier for me. I promise to have a few photos up in a couple of days as well as not "lurking" so much. It won't be anywhere close to the quality of the photos that set me down this pat

I was looking on the 'bay and found some examples selling over $10K? Why are they so much?Also there was another listing that stated this Stainless steel case with rotating bezel (40mm diameter)Finally, does the new model of this watch come with a black dial? It looks really good with the black dial.Thanks

This Christmas I was fortunate enough to get a few watches. Four of em! Three of the four are the genuine article, one is not. The knockoff is a Tag Heuer Grand Carrera from my father, who is a bit of a WIS. Initially I was blown away. I kept racking my brain wondering why my dad would sent me a Tag. My excitement soon faltered. He sent the watch in a box with no padding or packaging, no paperwork, nada. I got suspicious, even moreso when I found that the chrono didn't work and the crown was a push pull. I called him and asked him about it and he flat out told me it was a knock off. I'm not sure why but he has a weird thing about owning the real deal and a knockoff or two of the same model. He's had a Rolex Submariner and it's fake counterpart as well as the Tag and it's counterpart. He said that he was getting rid of his Tag as he didn't really like it and decided to send me the knockoff. I buried the watch in one of my dresser drawers and am trying to forget about

Almost ready to make the jump
Hey guys,I've had my Rolex Yachtmaster Platty 16622 for a while now and I'm almost ready to make the jump to Patek. And I need your help.For a while now the nautilus 5711/1a-011 has been my grail, but I've started to develop doubts. I know its really hard to say without trying the on the watch, but I feel its going to be a bit too big on my 6.5inch wrist, the 40mm rolex feels and looks great on me (pic below).For the above reason I've started to consider a 5167A-001. How does the feel and fit on this one compare to the nautilus? Im really attracted as well to the rubber strap and the posibility of having the steel one as well, something I've been trying for my YM but havent been able to acomplish this. Final question: should I go for the 5711 or the 5167? I just want an upgrade on my YM that I could use for ideally the rest of my life. Thanks!
