- Loved this gift. It was so easy to change the bands out. I got soft yellow, baby pink, white and black banks. The multiple bands really help me make my watch an accessory.

Audemars Piguet Audemars Piguet 6593 wrist watches news:
A few months ago, I took the WT forums advice and bought a Seiko SND127 chrono. I love this watch but I wore it while running in the snow the other day and I noticed condensation forming inside the glass. Is it time to take advantage of the warranty? Or does body heat + 30 degree F weather always lead to some condensation? I never wear the watch in water (besides maybe washing my hands) so I'm not sure how the moisture got in to the watch...
Several months ago, a Hamilton with a 981 movement went for over $400. I asked at the time why it went so high. The answer was that the sale price was low and the watch should have gone for more than $500. We all made comments about the dial being refinished incorrectly with the wrong font for Hamilton. Now, we have Ebay listing:Vintage 1923 SILVER Case Wire Lugs HAMILTON Wristwatch - eBay (item 270586251064 end time Jun-08-10 17:47:54 PDT)It is a silver cased 981 movement. It went for $193.62. I assume by the assay marks on the case back that it was not cased by Hamilton, although they did case 300 round 981's. They also sold 397 movements only. What made this watch worth so much less?If Hamilton used/sold its movements in order, this one would have been sold in 1922, though the seller may have been relying on the assay marks. Is this truly the "one that got away"?
I'm sure this is a touchy subject potentially, but I didn't see a FAQ or thread on the general pros and cons of buying via the 'net. What have your experiences been? Saved a lot of $$$ and feel retail stores in some mall are for suckers? Feel buying off the 'net is just crazy and you would never do it? Will do it if the 'net based store is an AD? Have made major purchase off say Ebay? Have a trusted 'net based store you have used you wanna recommend and or PM me with?As for me, back in the day I have purchased a few lower end Tags and a Omega Seamaster from a non AD 'net outlet without any problems. I would not do that with anything more expensive then that however. My Rolex Yacht Master I purchased from a retail store and got 10% off the MSRP.Interested to hear opinions, experiences, recs, etc of internet based buying, which I realize is a large topic.
With all these new AP owners is it time for TRF to have its own AP forum tab? You guys have excellent watches and make awesome threads. TRF is becoming the go to site for non Rolex discussions in my book, due to the great community of people and environment. I am looking to join the club very soon. just a thought :cheers
