Close-Up: Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch “Dark Side of the Moon”
Since its debut in 1957, Omega’s iconic Speedmaster chronograph, nicknamed “Moonwatch” for its presence on all six NASA lunar missions, sported a tricompax dial arrangement. In 2011, Omega outfitted the watch with a new co-axial movement and bicompax design, both of which are used again in the first Moonwatch with a black ceramic case, unveiled at Baselworld 2013.The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch “Dark Side of the Moon” derives its name from its black zirconium oxide ceramic dial and matching black ceramic case, which is 44.25 mm in diameter and boasts both brushed and polished finishes. What other Auto Chrono's am I not considering within my price range?
I guess my "benchmarks" right now are the Longines Hydorconquest and Tag Aquaracer (both attached). What other automatic chrono's am I not considering that are within the price range of my "benchmarks" (i.e. online stores have the Longines available around $1300 and the Tag at $1600).Also, any suggestions for reputable online merchants?

I came across a navitimer 01 LE about 8 months ago and I passed on it ( mistake ) I have not seen one for sale after that ( new or pre owned) I love the clear back, black with silver sub dials, the white gold wing and red touches. If you have seen one or know more info please let me know. Thanks !

An Omega...Sort of..
I always get questions when I wear this watch.... Here are fresh pictures..Lanco was made by the Langendorf Company (LanCo) in the mid 1800's, and ceased production in about 1973.. During it's last years, this company was owned by Omega/Tissot and Omega did market the name with Tissot movements.. This great company was a very progressive company and only fell due to mis-management and not because the movements or watches were second-class. It became a victim of the Quartz movement as Omega moved to consolidate and keep itself alive..This one is from the mid-60's, a few years before the buy-out by Omega>You can see the dial shows 45 years of time and also has a touch of moisture issue at the top... however, everything, including the crystal is original (except the strap)The dial is unusual because it has the traditional tachymeter in the black outer chapter, but also has a Telemeter dial with red numbering..
