IWC Announces Updated, Smaller Ingenieur Watches
Did you get your fill of pilot's watches from IWC in 2012? Good, as they have directed their 2013 efforts towards the Ingenieur and have launched a series of new models that commemorate their historic line of anti-magnetic watches that were originally designed for duty on the wrists of French engineers (le science!). The new Ingenieur models include both three-handers and a selection of chronographs. Here we will take a look at the three-handers, in which IWC has announced two very different Ingenieur variations.The first, and possibly most surprising, is the new ref 3239 Ingenieur Automatic which is built around a comparatively tiny 40mm platform. Most modern Ingenieurs are 46mm wide (and fairly tall) but this 40mm version returns to an old-school sweet spot and is a cuff-friendly 10mm thick. Purchase Question - 5140P
Hello!I'm pretty new to this hobby, but just wanted to say this Patek sub-forum and the incoming threads are driving me crazy!! That said, I'm thinking about purchasing a Patek on my own for the first time. I have a 5119G that I received as a graduation gift (M only Patek). I prefer leather straps over bracelets for Pateks for some reason and I'm trying to be under $90k for a brand new piece in my name. I've done some homework and I really like the 5140P but I was wondering if you guys could give me some other suggestions. I've heard some pieces being application only pieces? Is 5140P an application piece? Do AD's discount pieces like this? Thanks guys!

Please help me decide on my first PAM
Hi there!After months of research Ive narrowed down my first Panerai purchase to the following:PAM 233 - Its a classic. No need to explain why I like it.PAM 533 - I love the brown dial, although its not domed like the 233 (I love the dome face). PAM 441 - I love the ceramic and all-black look. PAM 372 or 560 - Both are awesome, timeless. But I keep going back to the dome of the 233.Couple of questions for the experts:1. As far as the in-house movements are concerned, which one of the above has the best / newest movements? Which one would you recommend based solely on the movement?2. Im about 80% sure on the 233. But based on the choices above, which one would you choose and why?3. Any other PAMs I should consider, based on my choices above? THANKS so much for the help!
